The Florida Veterans Foundation and the Marine Corps League of Tallahassee announce that Lt. Gen. Robert F. Milligan has been named Honorary Chairman of the Leatherneck Scramble Golf Tournament and will lead local golfers into battle at the Southwood Golf Club on Monday, November 15th, 2021.
Lt. General Milligan served with distinction for 35 years in the US Marine Corps before retiring in 1991 as Lieutenant General. He was elected for two terms as Comptroller of Florida and later serve as interim director of the State Board of Administration, Chairman of the Florida Veterans Foundation and interim Executive Director of the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs.
The tournament honors our heroes and supports Veterans in need, and is full of fun that includes hand grenades, alibis and “break the glass” contests along with a $10,000 prize for a hole-in-one. Players will experience one of the most celebrated golf course layouts in Florida and enjoy a day of fun, ceremony, and support for Veterans. Awards will be given to the first, second and third place team along with the infamous “Maggie’s Drawers” award for the heavy hearts. Scramble rules apply.
